Vaccarizzo è un paese arbëreshë (greco-albanese) che si trova sul versante settentrionale della Sila Greca, alle pendici della Serra Crista d'Acri. Qui si mantiene l'antica lingua albanese, gli abiti tradizionali e il rito bizantino-greco. E noi siamo partiti proprio dai mosaici bizantini per le etichette degli oli Librandi: un processo di stilizzazione e sintesi dell’arte del luogo per le forme grafiche e tecniche di stampa con lamina a caldo nera e dorata su sfondo bianco per la lavorazione della carta. Questo è il risultato finale.[:en]A long time ago, in a distant land, between Byzantine mosaics and olive trees there was an arbëreshë family that produced one of the best olive oils in the world. That land is Calabria, they are the Librandi. We worked on restyling the product for three types of their oil by designing a new line of labels. Behind the project, an in-depth study of the territory: that of Vaccarizzo Albanese, in the province of Cosenza. Vaccarizzo is a country arbëreshë (Greek-Albanian) located on the northern slope of the Sila Greca, on the slopes of the Serra Crista d'Acri. Here the ancient Albanian language, the traditional clothes and the Byzantine-Greek rite are maintained. We started from the Byzantine mosaics for the Librandi oils labels: a process of style and synthesis of the art belonging to this place, for the graphic and technical printing forms with black and golden hot foil on a white background for paper processing.
